Life can be one roller coaster after the other, lessened with strength learnt from your previous challenges & that’s how we grow. But what about feeling angry & frustrated with life, really feeling it, your very own pity party? We hear it all the time, keep moving forward that’s how we grow. But what if you want to have a Hissy Fit Pity Party? I have, with Chocolate in hand, drank red wine & cried! How’s that for honesty? I’ve wanted to punch a hole in the wall, kick a cat (as we say in Australia) I don’t have a cat nor would I kick one but it impounds the story some!
My life has experienced many challenges & everyone has a story, I have experienced much loss this past 12 months including the loss of my best friend- my Mother but how important is a pity party, VERY! We are human, we cannot keep expecting ourselves to not feel anger, loss of what we want to keep in our lives, people have this preconceived idea that once you
begin your journey into spiritual growth for a better word that you cannot feel negative feelings. Don’t believe a word of it, some of the greatest authors of personal development have these feelings but here’s the thing, feel it, own it, wallow in it, stamp, cry, kick a (wall) all the while knowing this is night & the sun will rise again in the morning.
Don’t allow the challenge to define you nor your response but do by all means have your Hissy Fit Pity Party. If it goes a few days then so be it, if it goes on for months, well you may be a little carried away but know this, it’s normal so stop feeling inadequate or judgmental on your responses. Let it out knowing you will move forward with such gusto to move beyond what is.
